Testing your setup
Once you have created your indoor positioning, navigation or geofencing setup in the webportal, It is best to do first test with the Android Proximi.io Management App. Download it from the Play Store.
Testing indoor positioning
- Login to the app with the same credentials as the one that you have used in the Webportal.
- Go to the Map demo. Here you can see your current position in blue dot and the beacons you have added to your account as markers. Move between the different beacons. You should start seeing your position moving smoothly between the two beacons.
- When you go to the portal's Analytics view, you will start seeing heatmap forming in the areas, where you have walked. Position updates are sent to the server every 5 minutes, so give the solution a moment before checking the analytics.
Testing navigation
- Login to the app with the same credentials as the one that you have used in the Webportal.
- Go to the Map demo. Here you can see your current position in blue dot and the Points of Interests you have added as marker. Search for a Point of Interest, and you will see a route forming between them.
- If you have added beacons along your route, you can start navigating towards the Point of Interest and see the route and instructions updating as you walk.
Testing geofencing
- Login to the app with the same credentials as the one that you have used in the Webportal.
- Go to the Map demo. Here you can see your current position in blue dot and the geofence created as red circle. In our case we have two geofences. The Geofence will show up in the map only when you enable ‘Show Inputs and Geofence’ option from the bottom of the page.
- With Proximi.io management app running in your mobile device, move in and out of the Geofence area to get the ENTER and EXIT events triggered
Note: You need to have beacons installed in your location or GPS must be enabled to track your movement. In order to use GPS, you actually need to go outside to trigger events.
